ABOUT

WELCOME TO RACHEL SAYUMI--
A blog about affordable & adorable style for the cheap, chic girl.

Hi, I'm Rachel! Welcome to my fashion & lifestyle blog. Being a girl who used to give herself a three days a week sweatpants allowance in high school, I now have the desire to create new, fun, mixed and matched outfits from my wardrobe. I have definitely branched out of my high school comfort zone! I love using my blog as a creative outlet for making the most of my closet.

When I'm not blogging, you can find me working my day job, hanging out with Justin, riding my bike, reading, eating, watching some reality tv show, going to Zumba class, or messing around with watercolor and calligraphy.

I’m married to Justin, a handsome brunette with pretty blue eyes. To get to know us better, click here.

FAQ:

What ethnicity are you? I am half Japanese, half Caucasian.! :) The Caucasian = English, Scottish, Italian, etc mix. Japan is a huge part of my life. I speak it fairly fluently, and can do some basic reading and writing.

What kind of camera do you use? Currently I use a Nikon D5300 with the 50mm 1.4G lens.

Do you edit your photos? I usually adjust the brightness/contrast on Picmonkey or iPhoto. I'm not good with technology.

Who takes your pictures? Mostly with a tripod and remote!

Where are your favorite places to shop? For affordable shopping, I turn to LuLu*s, Forever21TargetAsosOld NavyJ. Crew Factory, and little online boutiques (there are SO many of them!!). If I save up enough money for something I really want, it will most likely come from Anthropologie or Free People.

Where are you from? I am originally from Boise, Idaho. I went to BYU (Provo, UT) for my undergrad, and now we are in the beautiful state of Oregon for Justin's law school.

How old are you? I am 24 years old, but I'm constantly told I look 16 -__-

How tall are you? 5'1"

What does Sayumi mean? There's really no "meaning".. It's a name, made of 3 Japanese characters. One is a radical, one means beautiful, and the other means freedom.

So... how do you pronounce it? It is pronounced SAH-you-me.

thanks so much for stopping by! xo
